Nobu Marbella is the Saturday dinner. The argument for it is not novelty — every capital has a Nobu now, and the menu is largely the same from Malibu to Monte Carlo — but placement. This one sits inside the Puente Romano resort, a two-minute walk from the rooms and a three-minute walk from La Suite, which means the crew can shower, show up, eat properly, and roll into the club without ever calling a car. That logistical grace is what makes Nobu the right dinner here, when a more architecturally interesting restaurant twenty minutes away would not be.

The room is low-lit, wood-warm, the kind of restraint the brand has always done well. Book for twenty-one thirty. Ask for a round table if the group is more than six — the conversation will not survive a long rectangle. The menu is known. Order the black cod, the rock shrimp tempura, the yellowtail jalapeño, a sushi boat for the table so it arrives with a certain theatre, and enough sake to ruin Sunday morning but not Sunday brunch. A proper wine programme sits over the top for anyone who cares. Per head, with the boat and the bottles, lands somewhere between two-fifty and four hundred euros.

The dress code is enforced, which is part of what makes the evening feel like an occasion rather than a continuation of the afternoon. Shirts, leather shoes, dresses. No Nikki Beach hangover in linen shorts — the door will turn you around and they should. The dinner sits cleanly in the Marbella geometry: beach club from one to seven, rooms from seven to nine, Nobu from nine thirty to eleven thirty, La Suite from midnight. The whole arc is two hundred metres wide and the dinner is its middle beat.

When to book

Two weeks out for a group of six or more. Earlier in peak summer. Saturday twenty-one thirty is the right slot — early enough to eat without rushing, late enough that the room has settled into its evening cadence. If you want the terrace, ask for it explicitly; it gets allocated first and there are not many tables out there.

The door

Enforced at the door. Shirts with collars, long trousers, closed leather shoes. Sportswear and flip-flops are turned away. The rule continues next door at La Suite, so dress once.

The moment

The sushi boat arrives. It is large, it is theatrical, it is exactly as designed. Every phone at the table comes out. The waiter steps back with the practiced patience of somebody who has served this dish ten thousand times. Somebody orders another bottle. The groom's face in this photograph is the one the group chat keeps coming back to — not the Dom trolley, not the club, this one. Nobu understands what it is for, and the boat is the reason.
